Alexei Butirskiy
During the past twenty years, the evolution of Alexei Butirskiy and his incredible ability as an artist can be most accurately described as nothing less than remarkable!
In 1998: Alexei Butirskiy is a classically trained painter, who received his MFA in 1998 from the Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, one of the most prestigious art universities in the world.
Since 1996: Butirskiy has been honored with nearly 200 gallery exhibitions, museum shows and auctions in Russia, England, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Canada and the United States.
Since 2001: North American collectors have had the pleasure of witnessing the ever-increasing quality, creativity and variety of Alexei’s outstanding paintings.
BUTIRSKIY PHENOMENON IS HIS NEVER-STOPPING
(and never-ending) professional growth
He continues to share generously the abundance of his incredible talent through his new masterpieces. The subject matter of his works has widened geographically, as he “portrays” new places in Italy, like Rome and his beloved Venice. He has fallen in love with Spain, painting Seville and Barcelona. He visited England and shared London with us. He went to Hungary to show us Budapest. He travelled to Morocco and recreated colorful Rabat, Marrakech and Casablanca. His trips to France have resulted in numerous “portraits” of Paris. A vacation to the Czech Republic produced amazing images of Prague. Alexei is also exploring his second homeland in America with paintings of different locations in Florida, Washington DC, Sedona, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, New York, New Orleans, Lake Tahoe and numerous places in between. Traveling and visiting various parts of the world inspired Alexei to create new complex graphics, as well. He continues to experiment and achieve stunning effects with different and combined techniques. He vigorously mixes all combinations of media into a refreshing visual cocktail, catching the attention of experienced art connoisseurs the world over. Basic materials such as acrylic, charcoal, toned paper, gouache, sepia, sanguine, pencil, India ink, varnish, linseed oil and oil paint are behind Alexei’s inspired creations.
There is a silent poetry behind every single Butirskiy painting: we either just need to take the time and “listen” to it, or we can let our first impressions take over and simply allow it to create a sense of presence.
